Walt Disney World has revealed a wide range of new experiences, attraction updates, and limited-time offers planned for the resort in Summer 2026.

The latest announcements outline what guests can expect across the parks in the coming months, including returning attractions and brand-new shows.

The updates span multiple parks, with changes planned for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Alongside new entertainment and attraction refurbishments, Disney is also introducing several vacation deals aimed at making summer visits more appealing for families planning a trip to the resort.

Here, Florida News Blitz writer Taylor Stephenson takes a closer look at some of the biggest announcements and what they could mean for guests visiting Walt Disney World in 2026.

New Shows and Entertainment Across the Parks

Several new live entertainment offerings are planned as part of Walt Disney World’s summer lineup.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, new stage entertainment and refreshed experiences are expected to expand the park’s entertainment offerings.

One returning experience will be The Magic of Disney Animation, which is scheduled to reopen in a newly updated format in late summer 2026.

The attraction originally opened in 1989 before closing in 2015 and is being reimagined as part of a new studio-themed area within the park.

The updated experience will once again focus on the history and artistry behind Disney animation, giving guests an interactive look at how beloved characters are created.

Additional entertainment updates are also planned throughout the resort as Disney continues to refresh park offerings to provide new experiences for visitors.

Classic Attractions Getting Major Updates

Alongside new entertainment, several well-known attractions are also receiving updates and refurbishments.

One of the most anticipated returns is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom. The interactive attraction closed in 2025 for a major overhaul and is scheduled to reopen on April 8, 2026.

When it returns, the ride will feature several new upgrades, including redesigned ride vehicles, improved handheld blasters, new targets, updated animatronics, and a new robot character named “Buddy” that will assist guests during their mission.

Alongside this, the photopass opportunity will now also contain your score and rank. Great news for those wanting to show off their ‘Galactic hero’ status.

The improvements are intended to modernise the attraction while keeping the same gameplay concept that has made the ride a favourite for families visiting Tomorrowland.

A New Experience for EPCOT’s Soarin’

Another update coming in 2026 will affect one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions.

The current version of Soarin’ Around the World will close in May 2026 to make way for a limited-time film titled Soarin’ Across America, debuting on May 26, 2026.

The new film will showcase American landscapes and landmarks as part of celebrations tied to the United States’ 250th anniversary. The attraction will continue to use its signature motion-flight system that simulates gliding over scenic locations.
